| About Us
TAP-AND-GO is the product of a family that taps together.
The founder, Lisa Schuler is an award winning Tap instructor and choreographer in Portland OR. For the past decade, Lisa has
devoted all her time and energy into developing a distinct style of tapping. Having studied tap all her life, Lisa has been
influenced by show and rhythm tap. Dedicated to teaching kids and adults how to keep time, she has developed a unique program
that focuses on not only tap technique, but fitness as well. Knowing that the teacher is always still a student, Lisa has
made it her life commitment to share her knowledge, and knowledge of other Tappers and teachers, with the rest of the world.
"The more styles and teachers you are exposed to, the better dancer you
will be." With her "stay positive" attitude, she wishes the dance community to support
each other, not to be sidetracked with negative competitiveness. "Healthy
competition is great, when you realize you always want to make yourself a better dancer, when you work to better your score
and learn from your competitors."
Lisa has a husband and 3 children to share this experience with.
Adam, her husband, has been
tapping for only 5 years. Because of his drumming background, Tapping has become a natural extension of rhythm for him.
He has already been a National champion with Lisa’s Adult Performance
Team. Winning not only 1st place and high score adult overall, but an excellent experience
in teamwork and sportsmanship!
Taylor is the oldest of 3, with incredibly clear sounds and excellent technique. At 12, she has been selected as a Company
Member for the Grande Finale Performance Team. Only 5 Company members were selected to represent the top Tappers of
this program. She is showing the whole package as a dancer at such an early age.
Alicia, 9, loves
to keep the beat! Wanting to Tap since birth, Alicia is rippin’ up the floor! She has an addiction to toe stands and
wings because they "look cool". Her insane comprehension of rhythm has everyone impressed! Now in her third year
of competing, she is honored to be chosen as one of the latest competition members doing a routine on TAP-AND-GO FLOORS! She
also is debuting as a Tap soloist in just a few weeks!
A.J. is the new addition!
He loves to stomp around with Mom in the dance studio! At 3 years, he is keeping the beat in his first pair of Tap
shoes! The TAP-AND-GO FLOORS are his favorite playtime activity! Watch out world, this guy can shuffle step like a 5
year old!!
